All Kilns Advertised On This Site Ship From The Manufacturer And Include Free Shipping*.
This Offer Includes Truck-End Shipping or Ground UPS (whichever is appropriate for the size of your kiln)*. That means that the truck driver's job is to get the kiln to the end of the truck. You will be responsible to get it down on the ground. We highly suggest you opt for the optional Lift Gate Service. This service is only 25.00 and it means the driver uses a built in lowering panel at the end of the truck to get the kiln down on the ground. At that point you can deal with it easily. Lift Gate Service may be purchased at the time of your order on our catalog page. Inside service is available, but must be purchased at the time you place your order over the phone, not on our catalog page. Inside service means the driver or drivers will lower the kiln to the ground and bring it in to a garage with easy, short distance access over a paved serface. They will not take it up or down steps or around the back, over grass. Inside service is very expensive and we will have to call the trucking company to get a quote for each separate delivery. You will not see a "button" for this service, you must call us at 800-241-1895 to make this arrangement.  Please monitor your provided e-mail for important messages from us regarding your order.

*NOTE: Some remote continental US addresses may not qualilfy for Free Shipping. An example would be remote areas that are only accessable by boat or air such as islands. Deliveries to Manhattan Island do not qualify for Free Shipping because of high union fees and auxillary charges. Another example would be a mountain cabin with dirt roads. Semi-trucks will need a smooth, paved, flat road with easy access in order to deliver under this Free Shipping Offer. Low, over-hanging trees that block the truck from coming up your driveway will prohibit up-close delivery. In that case, they may want to drop it at the curb. Pick up at the truck terminal in some situations would allow us to still offer Free Shipping to undeliverable locations. The shipment will be held at the terminal for up to 3 days to allow you to pick it up yourself.
If you do not have a loading dock, you must purchase Lift Gate Service from the catalog at time of purchase.

25.00. Lift Gate Service for Common Carrier Truck Delivery. This option will make your delivery a breeze. The driver will lower the pallet to the ground and then you can deal with getting it where you want it. This is not inside delivery service. Option must be purchased with all truck deliveries if you don't have a dock door or fork lift.

Kilns are not light as a feather and are not cheap to ship. We want to help you avoid problems as much as possible. Kilns are NOT returnable. This is a serious purchase that requires serious thought.

Receiving Your Kiln
Olympic Kilns packs and ships its merchandise so that it will arrive at its destination undamaged. Olympic holds the carrier’s receipt that your order left in good condition.  We do not allow any deductions from invoices for damaged ware.

It is the receiver’s (you) responsibility to understand and comply with standard shipping and receiving practices as described in this section. The carrier is responsible for transporting your freight but not for unloading it. UPS  will deliver smaller shipments to your door.  However, for shipments delivered by freight carrier, a lift gate is required if you do not have a loading dock. If you do not have a loading dock, a lift gate for transporting the freight from the truck to ground level is required upon delivery. You will need to order lift gate service when ordering your kiln.  Otherwise additional freight charges will be incurred upon delivery of freight. It is your responsibility to move the freight from the truck to its place of use.

Upon Delivery
You have the option of refusing delivery if the freight appears to be damaged. Check the count of the items ordered, and note on the carrier’s delivery receipt any shortages. If any damage appears on outside of package, have the driver inspect the packages and note on the carrier’s delivery receipt the damage.  Immediately after delivery, open all cartons to determine if there is any concealed damage.
❑   Retain all damaged items with their packaging
❑   Call carrier to report damage and request an inspection within 24 hours. If a call is made later than 36 hours, the carrier
can deny your claim.
❑   Confirm call in writing by registered mail and keep a copy for your records.

Upon Carrier Inspection
Make sure the damaged items have not been moved from the receiving area prior to discovery of the damage. Allow the inspector to inspect damaged items, cartons, inner packing materials and freight bill. Be sure to retain your delivery receipt, it will be required as supporting documentation when a claim is filed. Once the inspector has filled out the inspection report, read it carefully and make sure you agree with the report. Unless repairs will be completely satisfactory, be sure the inspector requests replacement on the inspection report otherwise a new item cannot be ordered to replace what can be repaired.

After Carrier Inspection
Continue to retain damaged merchandise even though the inspection has been completed. Damaged items cannot be used or disposed of without written permission from the carrier. Do not return damage items to the shipper without written authorization from the supplier. If damage items are picked up by the carrier for salvage secure the receipt. 
Documents Required for Filing a Freight Claim:
 ❑  Your carrier’s loss or damage claim form
 ❑ Shipper’s original invoice or copy
 ❑  Original bill of lading
 ❑  Original paid freight bill
 ❑  Carrier’s inspection report
 ❑  Repair invoice
It is the customer’s responsibility (as consignee) to file any claim. Olympic Kilns is willing to assist you in collecting claims but this willingness does not make us responsible for collection of claims or replacement of materials damaged or lost.
